Spot light on Keithy
The spot light is on Keith Horne this month. Keithy is one of our awesome leading hand carpenters and is an absolute diamond on our team.
Keith was born and raised in the big smoke of Auckland New Zealand and decided to come across the river to check out OZ in 81. He had had look around the place and never left!
Keithy has been a carpenter for his entire career and as such he brings the huge benefit of over 40 years’ experience to the team. He has worked in almost all sectors of carpentry. His apprenticeship was carried out on the warships for the new Zealand navy. When he came to Australia his trade skills have seen him involved in contract stair construction and joinery, new houses and renovations. He has spent 6 years as a supervisor in the Torres Straits and now has been with us in the fit out game for over 4 years.
He says that construction is in his blood and the thing he likes about his field is the satisfaction of constructing and delivering a finished product made with his two hands.
Outside of work Keith loves to have a hit of golf, go fishing, hunting and he also partakes in dragon boat racing for fitness.
This is a guy who truly enjoys his work and he is an absolute pleasure to have to have working with us andi is a real asset to our team.
